Day 3 and things are not slowing down. And wait for it... IT DIDN’T RAIN! The sun even poked its head through the clouds for a few glorious seconds. What a time to be alive. The children finished yesterday with fried chicken and chips and chocolate cake with cream for dessert. The tiredness had set in and it was a very quiet night in the cabin (after the dancing and doing the worm). After an energising sleep, the children were woken up to the smell of fresh pastries baking in the oven, it was croissants with turkey bacon and cheese, YUM! The children set off on another wild day of adventures with today focusing on lots of team building and collaborative activities which presented a whole new range of challenges that the children had to work together to overcome. They also honed their survival skills building fires and shelters. After only 3 days, the forest has become like a second home and the children are able to navigate around the woods with startling precision. Bear Grylls better watch out because Daubeney are the new kings and queens of the outdoors. The children are very excited for their dinner this evening which is burger and chips. They’ve been well and truly spoilt today as for lunch they were treated to pizza! Mr Swarbrick was very happy. As always, they’ll finish their evening with wider games and hot cocoa before bed. The children and staff are overwhelmed with all the wonderful messages so far so please keep them coming. We loved hearing all the wonderful nicknames you have for the children. We’ll send another update tomorrow after our last full day and it won’t be long before we’re rolling back into Daubeney Road. Until tomorrow, The Daubeney Team.
