Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development

At Daubeney, the children and their learning are at the very heart of everything we do. Its impact is seen both within and outside of the classroom. We believe strongly in a holistic education for our children, rooted in our conviction that our children will succeed regardless of their background and any challenges that they may find themselves in. Our ethos, ‘Success No Matter What” will equip our children with the necessary attitudes and values for life, in an ever changing society.

We teach our children about the part they play in society and the place they have in the world (British Values and Cultures).

At Daubeney we recognise that the personal development of pupils spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve and also to relate fully to the world in which we live.  We therefore aim to provide an education that provides pupils with opportunities to explore and develop:

  • their own values and beliefs whilst respecting the values and beliefs of others (Rights Respecting School)
  • their own spiritual awareness (RE Curriculum and Enrichment)
  • their own high standards of personal behaviour
  • a positive, caring attitude towards other people (SEAL)
  • an understanding of their social and cultural traditions (British Values)
  • and an appreciation of the diversity and richness of other cultures
  • the skills necessary to make judgments independently and appropriately

Below are some of the enriching activities that we have been involved in:
