Year 6 were delighted to have been visited by two inspiring members of the Guardian newspaper team and learning about the exciting world of Journalism and the Media. The workshop involved children thinking about what it means to be a journalist and what is involved in getting a newspaper ready each day for the next day.
The session ended with the journalists advising Year 6 to read and write as much as they can if they would like to pursue a career as journalists and a top tip – the Guardian (and many other newspapers) are seriously in need of science journalists and journalists who can create stories from numerical data! Come on Year 6, let’s meet the need!
