Year 6 - 6M IntoUniversity
Last week, (Monday 28th January – Friday 1st February) 6M has the exciting opportunity to go to Into University. Each day brought new and exciting learning. On Monday, we learnt all about the theme of the week which was diversity and inclusion. Following on from this, we learnt all about different types of families we have in our community.
On Tuesday, we took part in a workshop and learnt all about the wonderful and inspiring women in the world, such as: Rosa Parks and Emmiline Pankhurst.
On Wednesday, we visited the Leighton-House Museum. We discovered different paintings and noticed that only one painting in this museum was painted by a woman; we learnt that women did not have a lot of opportunities in the 1850s. We explored beautiful art work from all over the world and were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to speak to tour guides who answered all our questions.
On Thursday, we prepared for our graduation and had the thrilling opportunity of looking through university prospectuses to explore the plethora of courses available. We wrote about what we would like to study in university.
Finally, we reached the end of the week which was a proud day for everyone. We got the chance to use our incredible drama and performance skills, along with showing off everything we learnt throughout the week. We also explored the wonderful King’s College University.
