Year 5 have been learning about World War 2 over this half term and had the chance to visit the renowned Imperial War Museum. As if this wasn't exciting enough, we were lucky enough to have a World War 2 survivor names Mr Saunders come to visit us at school! Mr Saunders told us about life in Hackney during the war and how he and his mum had to be evacuated out of London for safety. Since Mr Saunders was a student at Daubeney school as a child, it was a special visit and the children were really able to connect with him. Thank you Mr Saunders for paying us a visit and sharing your experiences with us!
