Year 3 had a WOW day and we learnt about the Romans. We researched on the life of a Roman legionary and the weapons and armour they wore. We then used our research to design and create our own Roman shields. We then all went to the playground to be Roman soldiers for the afternoon. We threw javelins up in the air and then got ready for battle. We then held our shields in preparation for battle against the Celts. As we marched together, we also listened for orders from the centurions. We also practiced battle tactics such as Testudo, the Orb and the Triple line.
