This week, year 3 are learning all about how money is dealt with in the adult world. Today (27th March 2019) we brought Hackney's Mare Street into our classroom! The High street included a Cinema, Post Office, Bank and a Supermarket! Pupils all got their own wallet which included some money, phone bills, credit cards, proof of identity and receipts (of course they were all fake)! Children got the opportunity to 'spend their parent's money' by roleplaying the jobs of both the cashier and a parent.
These are what some children had to say about their experiences:
"It made me realise how stressful being an adult actually is!" -Laniya
"Life is so busy for parents and adults!" - Calum
"You have to be good at maths because there is a lot of adding and taking away" - Amina
"I can't believe our parents have to do this all the time!" -Aryan
