To start our term with a bang, we had wow day on Monday which was full of exciting activities all about Pirates. We came to school dressed up as pirates and even kept a pirate name to start the day.

First of all, we learnt about some famous pirates such as Blackbeard. Did you know he used to walk around with lit fuses on his beard to scare people? After that, we went to the hall and walked the plank blindfolded.

The following day, we made pirate biscuits called ‘Hardtack biscuits’. We used flour, milk, butter and salt to make the biscuits. The biscuits then become hard and designed to last a long time especially during long sea voyages.

We have really enjoyed learning about pirates so far and look forward to learning more exciting things this term.
