Year 3 - Forces and Magnets

Year 3 explored the topic of forces and magnets. They experimented with magnets and iron filings, made posters about what they already know and what they would like to find out and finished off the session with a tug of war to explore forces! Who do you think won?

"Did you know that the whole earth is like a magnet, with a North and South Pole?" - Remy

"Sometimes magnets attract one another and sometimes they repel." - Izabela

Nicole 3p - I love the lesson especially the magnets and the tug of war

Lexi 3T - Magnets are named after a place called Magnesia in Greece where there are lots of natural magnetic rocks.

Remy 3T - Magnets were discovered by a boy who was walking along a big rock and as soon as he stepped on it all of the nails on his sandals came off and got stuck to the rock because of its magnetic pull.

Yasim 3T - I am looking forward to finding out more about forces and magnets. The magnets are so strong and did you know some are rocks.

Aland 3T - It was fun and I used all of my strength to pull the hard ropes.
