Year 3 had a special author coming in to visit as part of Literacy Festival Week. We had a visit from Roland Chambers who wrote ‘Nelly and the Quest for Captain Peabody’. He told us about all the books he has written and gave us lots of top tips to write interesting stories. Year 3 had lots of interesting questions to ask him.
One interesting fact he mentioned was that one of his books took 4 years to write! Imagine that! Another fact was that the story we read of ‘Nelly and the Quest for Captain Peabody’ was actually named after his daughter. Year 3 really enjoyed their author visit and learnt a lot.
