We learnt about the position of the equator in this lesson, identifying that it is an imaginary line in the middle of the earth. We also located the north and south poles on the globe. We discussed the earths position in relation to the sun and explored how countries along the equator are closer to the sun, therefore being hotter. We also looked at how the north and south poles are further from the sun, meaning they are colder. We used google earth to locate countries in these areas and thought about what it would be like to live there.
