Ms Shaikh's Banana Bread Recipe

Hello everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful time playing, learning and creating at home! In my spare time I love to cook, so today I wanted to share one of my favourite recipes with you: banana bread! Hopefully my video will make it super easy to make some banana bread of your own, showing you how to measure out ingredients and mix it all together!

You will need:

Dry ingredients –

  • Flour 240g (any type of flour will do – I’ve used wholemeal for some extra fibre but plain will do just fine!)

  • Baking soda 1tsp

  • Baking powder ¾ tsp

  • Salt (a good pinch!)

  • Cinnamon ½ tsp

Wet ingredients –

  • Banana x 2 (the riper the better! Look for lots of brown spots!)

  • Yogurt 170g (I used Greek yogurt but any yogurt will do)

  • Honey 170g

  • Milk 75g (I used oat milk in mine but dairy, almond, soya milk will work just as well)

(Grown-ups: please preheat the oven to 180 degrees, on a fan setting. When your little chef is ready to pop their banana bread in the oven, please ensure it bakes for 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, turn the oven off and allow the banana bread to sit in the oven for a further 10 minutes. I know it will be super tempting to get stuck in straight away but if you’re very patient, I recommend storing in the fridge overnight and it will become even sweeter the next day!)

I really hope you enjoy making (and eating!) your yummy banana bread! I’d love to see how you get on with your baking! Please share your photos at: admin@daubeney.hackney.sch.uk

Peace, love and bananas,

Ms Shaikh X
