Spanish Champions at Tate Modern

A group of Spanish Champions had the chance to visit the Tate Modern this week, where they explored various works of art by Hispanic artists. Amongst these artists was Doris Salcedo, a Colombian-born visual artist and sculptor. Her work took the form of a long crack in the floor in 2007, and today we can see pictures of this temporary art installation alongside the still noticeable reminder of the crack in the Turbine Hall.
The children also attended an informative talk about the artist Joan Mitchell, learning about her influence and style and using her work to discuss colours in Spanish.
This experience enriched their understanding of Hispanic culture and art.
