The School Council of 2024-25 is off to a great start! Their dedication to working for the betterment of their peers and splitting into focused committees shows a strong commitment to addressing different aspects of school life. The committees are; Admin Committee, Journalist Committee and Junior Road Safety Committee. The committees regular meet demonstrating an organised, dedicated and proactive approach.
The School Council has been incredibly active and engaged! They met with the Blossom Federation School Councillors at Lauriston Primary School. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to connect with others and share ideas. The collage artwork they created on past, present, and future is a creative way to reflect on their journey and vision—I’m sure it’s something that will spark conversations around the school!

The “Idea Box” initiative from the Admin Committee is such a great way to encourage student involvement. It gives everyone a voice and ensures that feedback from all students, not just the council members, is heard and acted upon. They take time each week to address concerns and suggestions. This helps to make sure that the pupils’ experiences continue to be improved.

The “Blossom News” newsletter is a fun and great way for the Journalist Committee to share interesting stories and updates with the school community. Do you have any ideas or specific content your hoping to include in the second edition?

It is always interesting for pupils to hear about their teachers’ and Head Teachers’ school days. School Council had great fun when they met with Mr. Warren recently. It helped them to relate to Mr. Warren and learn more about him as a person, not just as a teacher or a leader.
