On Wednesday 7th November, The Junior literacy Team led an assembly for KS1. We recommended books we like to read when were younger. Dejunet’s favourite book was ‘Eat Up Gemma!’ by Sarah Huges, which Miss Fergus loved when she was younger too! Kai, leader of the JLT, read a funny extract from his favourite book, ‘The Twists’ by Roald Dahl. The books the Junior Literacy Team recommended include:
- The Twits by Roald Dahl
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
- Hairy McLary by Lynley Dodd
- You Choose by Pippa Goodhart
- The Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson
- Wanted! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burgular by Emily MacKenzie
Have you read any of these books? What were your favourite books when you were younger?
The Junior Literacy Team enjoyed the assembly as much as the KS1 children!
