As part of the science and sustainability learning, our pupils did enjoyed learning about about how plants grow. We explored the life cycle of a plant and learned the correct order: seed → root → shoot → plant → flower → new seeds.
Using visual pictures and sequencing activities, the children worked hard to put the stages of the plant life cycle in the correct order. This helped them understand how a tiny seed grows into a healthy plant.
The pupil then took part in a cress planting . They carefully planted cress seeds by placing them onto damp cotton wool and giving them water. The children used their fine motor skills to pick up the small seeds and spread them carefully. also they listened well to instructions and followed each step independently or with adult support.
