As part of the geography learning, children took part in exciting geography activities focused on exploring their local area. Using photographs, symbols, maps, and matching tasks, learners developed their understanding of familiar places within the community.
Some children were able to identified key places such as the school, local shops, bakery, park, and homes, making links between pictures and real-life locations as well they were able to:
- Match symbols and pictures to locations
- Develop early map-reading and observation skills
- Strengthening fine motor skills through mark-making in colouring symbols of landmarks.
