Pupils had the opportunity to learn about Mehndi hand designs as part of their art focus to celebrate Diwali.
They explored a range of beautiful Mehndi patterns by looking at different shapes, patterns and lines etc so this supported them in developing their understanding of cultural traditions associated with Diwali.
Following this, pupils used playdough to create their own representations of Mehndi hands. They carefully rolled, shaped, and arranged the playdough to recreate patterns and decorative designs, developing their creativity, fine motor skills, hand strength, and hand-eye coordination. Pupils showed enthusiasm and pride in their artwork while exploring a key aspect of Diwali celebrations.
