As part of our Safer communities initiative the learning mentors took a group of year 6 children to the SSE arena in Wembley for the WE Day event. There were 12,000 people in attendance at WE Day to celebrate all young people who are socially active, locally and globally and want to see change. Whether it be working towards a healthier environment, fundraising for a school bus or creating a safe haven against violent crime WE Day celebrates activism in all aspects. No matter your disability, gender, religion or the colour of your skin WE Day represents all.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Nicole Sherzingher and Tom Walker were all special guests who contributed to a remarkable day. Now our job as educators is to help our young people in Daubeney bring about more social change through activism.
