Students across school have had the opportunity to explore the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. During this festivity, which roots began over 3000 years ago, the dead ones are honoured. It is not a sombre and sad time, but a time for celebration and remembrance. Day of the Dead is celebrated across three days. It is a festivity of flowers, food, candles, parades, prayer and fun.
Our highlights - students in Year 3 loved decorating papel picado and Year 3 students showed off their singing skills with Un poco loco, from the Disney film Coco and … we even had our own Calavera Catrina!
