Rainbow Room – PSHE: Family Relationships

Children participated in their PHSE session, where they learned about different families and family members. They were introduced to Makaton signs such as "mum," "dad," "family," "brother," and "sister," and did an excellent job repeating these signs after an adult.

Additionally, they explored the concept of a family tree through a cutting and sticking activity. In this activity, they placed different family members on the family tree, demonstrating their understanding of where each member belongs.

Furthermore, the children looked at pictures of various families from around the world and stuck photos of people in their own families. Some children were able to identify who they live with. For example, one child pointed at a picture of their mum to show that they live with this child , while child another pointed at a picture of sister to indicate that this child has a sister in the family.
