As part of our Maths learning, pupils explored a variety of 2D shapes through engaging shape-identification worksheets and matching activities.
Pupils practised recognising, naming, and colouring different shapes using a colour code, including circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, pentagons, and hexagons. Pupils were also able to identify, point to, or name shapes when prompted by an adult, demonstrating their growing understanding of mathematical vocabulary and shape recognition.
In addition, pupils demonstrated excellent observation skills by following and completing shape colour patterns. By carefully looking at the sequence of colours and shapes, they were able to identify what came next and continue the pattern independently. This helped to strengthen their visual discrimination, attention to detail, memory, and early problem-solving skills.
