This week we are celebrating European Day of Languages. Students in Yr5 and Yr6 have had the opportunity to learn about some loanwords or ‘borrowings’. These are words which are now English words that come from other languages.
As well as being a great chance to celebrate the diversity of languages and cultures and promote intercultural understanding, European Day of Languages gives us an opportunity to get to know our own language better.
